As part of our offer to give a personable service to our Candidates at Cassidy Crane Recruitment, we will give as much or as little coaching to our Candidates as they feel they need.

Ultimately, the success of the interview is on you, but follow these easy tips and we're confident your chances of landing that amazing job will increase!

1- Preparation and Research.

There is nothing more cringeworthy for an interviewer than having to grit their teeth while the Candidate gets it all wrong.

Research the company AND the role before you go in- that way you'll have nothing to be afraid of.

You can usually find out more about what particular roles are on the National Careers Service Website.

You'll have a full job description from us, so use this as a guideline only as all roles vary.

2- Be on time.

Turning up on time is great, turning up early is even better. Plan your journey the night before and time yourself to get to the interview at least 15 minutes early- at least if there are any travel disruptions, you should be covered.

3- Turn your phone off.

There's nothing more unprofessional than a phone beeping and buzzing during an interview. Not only does it look bad, it's probably really going to put you off your train of thought. Don't risk just putting it on vibrate, turn the phone off.

Business Handshake

4- Body Language.

Start your interview positively with a firm (not injury-inducing) handshake- it shows confidence.

Maintain eye contact with your interviewer throughout the process, keeping your body language open and positive. Keep your body turned toward your interviewer with your arms uncrossed.

5- Look the part.

We tell all of our Candidates to turn up to their interviews suited and booted- whether it's office management or warehouse operative.

Polish your shoes, iron your clothes and have it all planned out the night before. It's not uncommon for interviewers to be put off by poor body hygiene and the interview anxiety tends to make us sweat anyway- make sure you're deodourised!

6- Ask Questions.

One of the most important parts of the interview. A lot of the time, a lot of your pre-planned interview questions will be answered by the interviewer during the process.

Think outside the box and tailor your questions toward the specific role you're interviewing for and the company itself.

These are snippets of the Interview prep pack we give out to our Candidates prior to their interview. If you haven't already registered with us, do so now over on our Candidate Reg page!
